Hospital antibiotics have become one of the
"medicines" most often prescribed, or rather far too
much. Patients have used them to ruin their digestive
systems and, paradoxically, weaken their natural
defenses against subsequent infections.
With the following five natural antibiotics, you can fight
infections without damaging your digestive system.
Garlic
Garlic has been used for medicinal purposes by various
cultures for thousands of years. In the 18th century, it
was even taken as a defense against the plague.
Garlic has powerful antibiotic, antiviral, antifungal and
antimicrobial properties, it can help protect against
unfriendly intestinal bacteria and facilitate their
elimination. It also contains a lot of natural
antioxidants that make free radicals harmless; this also
strengthens the immune system.
Garlic contains an active ingredient, allicin, this
allicin protects against and kills harmful bacteria. Crush
the garlic cloves to activate these substances and eat
them raw, or in a warm tea, or in dishes cooked only
briefly. [...]

ointment: The Middle Ages knew more than cr. Pharma of
today: "Ointment consisting of garlic, onions, wine
and beef bile"
Effective against biofilms: Drug from the Middle Ages
kills resistant bacteria
https://www.krone.at/2202288
<Antibiotic-resistant bacteria are becoming more
and more a problem in hospitals, where they are
increasingly causing serious or even fatal infections.
Now English scientists have discovered that an eye
ointment from the Middle Ages kills a number of
disease-causing germs and is also extraordinarily
effective against stubborn so-called microbial biofilms.
The recipe for the medieval remedy, which according to the
University of Warwick [England] kills five different types
of bacteria more effectively than currently available
antibiotics, comes from the "Bald's Leechbook," a medieval
medical manuscript from the 10th century. According to
this, the ointment helps against eye infections. It
consists of garlic, onions, wine, and bovine bile.
This recipe also acts against biofilms
Now the researchers of the University of Warwick [England]
have discovered that the eye ointment is also effective
against microbial biofilms, in which single or mixed
populations of pathogens use mucus to protect themselves
against antibiotics, making them very difficult to treat.
The bacteria in the biofilms are attacked and killed by
this medieval formulation and this is very helpful against
foot ulcers of diabetics which are healing only slowly,
and which are often resistant to a treatment with
antibiotics. It is not uncommon, therefore, that the
pharma medicine is amputating a foot thinking that this
would be the safe remedy for preventing the bacteria from
spreading in the blood and causing fatal bacteremia.
"We have shown that a medieval remedy of onions, garlic,
wine and bile can kill a number of problematic bacteria
that also grow as biofilms. Since the mixture did not harm
mice or human cells in laboratory tests, we may be able to
develop a safe and effective antibacterial treatment from
the remedy," University of Warwick researcher Freya
Harrison is quoted as saying on their website.>
