Playground facility 01a: Robinson Playground

What a Robinson playground brings to kids and families:

Playing outside -- Playing inside -- Training social behavior -- Detecting negative social behavior -- Asking caretakers -- Crafting and tinkering in summer and winter -- Small animals at the Robi -- Language learning at the Robi -- Theater and parties at the Robi -- Cooking and baking at the Robi -- Free time for parents, etc.

1. Robinson playground = balancing the children with educational support - handicrafts and play in summer and winter - Robi against cell phone gaming addiction - training social behavior - ask the supervisor
Robinson playgrounds are
-- an important balance for the children with playing outside on small and large devices, and in winter inside at the game table with a variety of board games
-- a Robi is a great stimulation for all children if the parents have no time to play at home or no money for lots of toys, or if the children have become addicted to playing killer games on their cell phones: Here children learn new games or variations that children teach to the new children - without cell phone
-- with educational support
-- Here the children's social behavior is trained - and conspicuous children with persistently negative social behavior are discovered, the parents are informed and measures are initiated, if necessary ADHD is treated (naturopaths, homeopaths, therapeutic eurhythmia, adjusting diet, reducing neglect, reducing cell phone addiction, etc.)
-- Here children can ask the carers what they can't ask at home or if their parents don't have time
-- Especially in families where the parents fail (separation, father not there, drinkers, drunkards, aggressive mothers, one-sided life with TV, stadium, holiday home, etc.) the carers of a Robi become important reference persons in childhood between 7 and 11 years.

You can see: a Robinson playground has little to do with the novel "Robinson Cruse" about a sailor who spends 28 years alone on an island. It is an island FOR THE CHILDREN with caretakers - a kind of family supplement, for some children even a substitute family for stability and a family feeling.

2. Crafting and working in Robi
Robinson playgrounds included
-- always crafts and handicrafts where boys and girls can develop their OWN ideas and their manual and coloring talents on an equal basis
-- In winter the Robinson playground remains open, here you can play indoors, but also do handicrafts and crafts, the children never get bored on a Robi, even in winter
-- Some Robinson playgrounds even organize work weeks with special materials from the construction store (for example: Robi Bachgraben in Basel)
-- A Robi also teaches the children about recycling, by-products are turned into art with cones, yoghurt cups, egg cartons, toothpicks, trouser buttons, plastic beads and hot glue etc. (this is standard in every Robi)

3. Animals in the Robi
-- Small animals are often kept in enclosures, which the children can pet or feed in order to establish contact with the animal world
-- Rabbits, chickens, small pigs (examples: Robi Binningen near Basel, Robi Birsfelden near Basel)

4. Language acquisition - parents in the Robi - free time for the parents when the child is in the Robi
A Robinson playground is invaluable
-- for foreign-speaking children for language acquisition in order to develop the courage to speak in another language than their mother tongue
-- On some Robinson playgrounds the presence of parents is permitted on certain days, which is ideal for children who are learning a language, and also in other ways so that parents can get to know each other and support each other (e.g. at Robi Binningen near Basel on Sunday)
-- Other Robis have a parents' room where the parents are "locked in" but are still present in case of emergency (Robi Augarten in Rheinfelden, Switzerland)
-- If the children can be confident on the Robinson playground without their parents, this short free time for the parents is of a high value.

5. Robinson playgrounds: modest house buildings - painted like a small circus - self-built huts - sports field, play equipment
-- A Robi consists of one-story, modest houses, and usually also has many small huts or circus wagons, often colorfully painted with motifs like in a small circus, with the huts being built by the children themselves with the carers - a trampoline on the Robi is actually standard, along with slides and wooden horses
-- Robis often also have a small sports field, a vehicle park with go cards and similar children's vehicles

6. Not every Robi is the same
-- Not every Robi is the same: Some have a metal workshop (Augarten Rheinfelden), others a blacksmith shop (Binningen), others a large area with a labyrinth and many small huts (Therwil), others have a large sports field with 2 basket baskets that are set lower for children (Therwil), others have several slides (Therwil, Binningen), others a ship (Therwil), others a small cable car for swinging (Muttenz), others have a few go cards (Therwil, Augarten Rheinfelden), in Muttenz near Basel (Switzerland) a miniature train runs through the Robi every now and then (they have a website with the timetable), etc. etc.

-- Families are organized in the Robi, where excursions or holiday camps are organized (Muttenz)

7. Theater and festivals in the Robi
-- A Robi can also become a party hut on a daily basis; children organize their children's birthday parties here, and young people in groups also organize cooking sessions or bake desserts
-- A children's theater with a stage is also possible, etc., etc., with a tuned piano you can even have musical performances in the Robi (Muttenz)

-- A Robi is also a place where games or toys are sometimes given away, and children's clothes can also be exchanged (it would be brilliant if every Robi would have a children's clothes secondhand shop)

8. The opening times vary in some cases

-- The opening times are usually different, so you have to be well informed, go there yourself, you have to do it once and then you have the list of Robis in the region to make children's hearts happy
-- It's great when one or two Robis in a region are also open on Sundays (Binningen, but it's closed on Saturdays).

SCANDAL 01: The rich elite often refuse financing a cheap Robi - but the elite always have money for motorways

In many regions of the world there are NO Robinson playgrounds. That's a VERY pity, because...
-- Then the children lose an experience with other children
-- Then ADHD or other behavioral problems remain undetected in some children
-- Then foreign-speaking children cannot practice and expand the language on the Robi
-- Then the child's circle of friends remains limited to school, courses and holiday acquaintances
-- Above all, the leaders of the Robis are then no longer a support in the children's lives, who in some cases are extremely important for the children - it's a shame.

The world's elite are saving money in the WRONG place.

In the Basel region, people seem to have recognized the value of Robis, but in the Upper Basel area (Oberbaselbiet), for example, apparently not. Search for Robinson playground on Google maps.

There is still no money for Robis or therapeutic farms in many regions. But motorways are being built (e.g. in the Upper Basel region). There is really something missing for the children - the Robi daycare center (Robinson playground) for balancing the children's souls.

SCANDAL 02: Most teachers do NOT know what a Robinson playground is!
And there is another bad thing: the teachers of primary schools often DON'T even know what a Robi is because it is NOT included in the teaching program of the teacher training colleges (!). The important, regulating effect of the Robinson playgrounds is still NOT RECOGNIZED by the teacher's colleges or is simply SUBMITTED. Something should finally change - in the name of ALL children.

SCANDAL03: The Robis are missing from the city maps!
Robis may also be mentioned on city maps. And where a Robi is located aside a motorway, you can also put a roof over the motorway (Muttenz). Clean air is a human right, and especially a child’s right. On the roof, sports fields can be installed.
